Well, if you see me at work (and if you live in Illinois or Indiana, you have no excuse not to!) Then you know I have just come back from vacation. I have also been working 6 days a week to pay all my bills and save up for the trip. Contrary to popular belief, dancers DO NOT make a million dollars a night!
So that explains why I have not kept everyone updated. My Saturday nights, normally the night I update all my SC stuff and my blog and all that, have been consumed with work. In fact, for the 6 weeks before vacation, I worked every single shift I could, and spent probably the equivalent of another shift each week on the phone, begging for more shifts. Whew!
But, it was worth it. I spent two weeks in Door County, Wisconsin. It is one of my favorite places in the whole world, and some day I want to retire up there. For now, I have to content myself with the time share. Not that I am complaining! We spent 6 days with my Mom and foster brother and his family, then camped for one night here, (which was the ONLY night it rained and it ruined our tent!) and spent the rest of the time here. When Ted wanted to buy this time share, was soooooo mad at him. We almost got divorced over it. Now I think it was one of the best things we ever did. We spent the week riding bikes, hiking in Peninsula State Park, cooking on the grill, and swimming. And just hanging out. We did a LOT of that.
We had so much fun I didn't want to come home. I begged for (and got) a one-day extension. Which means, we came home the night before we had to go back to work. We cut it so close, in fact, that Ted walked in the door, put on his uniform, and left for work. I was still wired from the drive and the stress of making it home in time, and the 47 cups of coffee I drank on the ride home. So after he left, I got on the internet and instead of checking my email like a normal person, I pulled up more pictures of Door County and wished myself back there.
All in all, it was an awesome vacation.
